BBC iPlayer Documentary:
High Rise Housing:
Forced to leave
Behind the Lens
Working alongside BBC Social Affairs Correspondent Fiona Lamdin, this film was built around trust, access and real human experience. With a shared history of collaboration, the process was naturally fluid, allowing the story to develop in an honest and unforced way.
Nick Jones led the project end-to-end, shooting, directing and editing the film to maintain a consistent creative vision throughout. The approach was deliberately observational, focusing on capturing genuine moments as they unfolded, while bringing a cinematic sensitivity to pacing and structure. The result is a piece that sits comfortably between broadcast journalism and character-led documentary, grounded in authenticity but crafted with care.
The film forms part of a wider body of work recognised by the Royal Television Society, reflecting both the strength of the storytelling and the impact of the subject matter.
